San Jose is the largest city in Silicon Valley with close to 1 million people. It makes San Jose also the 10th largest city in the US. But it feels pretty small. I went downtown on Saturday and I haven’t explored all yet. You can walk around for a little while. There is a beautiful cathedral, the Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph, the San Jose Museum of Art and some other museums that I haven’t visited yet, theaters, restaurants and bars. However, the downtown area felt pretty deserted. Not sure where all those people go…
San Jose ist die groesste Stadt in Silcon Valley mit fast 1 Million Einwohnern. San Jose ist die zehntgroesste Stadt der USA, aber das merkt man gar nicht. Die Stadt fuehlt sich ziemlich klein an. Ich war am Samstag Downtown (Zentrum der Stadt) und dort war nicht viel los. Ich habe noch nicht alles angeschaut, man kann ganz nett im Zentrum herumlaufen. Es gibt dort eine wunderschoene Kathedrale, die Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph, das San Jose Kunstmuseum und weitere Museen, Theater und Restaurants. Es war allerdings so ruhig, dass es fast unheimlich war. Keine Ahnung, wo die 1 Million Leute alle sind…

Hi Anna. Yes, it’s quite interesting. San Francisco, for example, is smaller than San Jose, but San Francisco appears much bigger as it has a real center. Silicon Valley is a conglomeration of a number of cities, so overall Silicon Valley covers a few million people. 🙂
